Some Things that You Need to Know
About the Judgment
I. The Bible teaches that there will come a time when
Jesus Christ will come back and judge the world.
A. Jesus is coming again.
1. Acts 1:10-11
2. John 14:3
B. We don’t know when He will be coming back, it will
be “as a thief in the night.” (2 Peter 3:10)
C. At His second coming, He shall judge the world.
1. Matthew 25:31-45
2. We see two (2) sentences:
a. Heaven – Matthew 25:35, 45.
b. Hell – Matthew 25:41, 45; Mark 9:43-48.
D. The standard by which we will be judge is the
gospel.

2. Revelation 20:12II. We are going to be judge on our:
A. Thoughts.
1. Genesis 6:5-6
2. Matthew 5:27-28
3. Some of the works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-
21.
a. hatred
b. wrath
c. jealousies
d. envy
4. We need to be careful what we think about for the
Wise Man said “For as he thinks in his heart, so
is he” in Proverbs 23:7.
5. We need to think about the things in Philippians
4:8.
6. Not only are we going to be judged on what we
think, we will be judged on our speech.
B. Speech (what we say).
1. In Matthew 12:34-37, we see why we need to be
careful of what we say.
a. Have you ever made the statement “I said that
without thinking”?
b. We will be lest likely to say bad things, if
we think on the things in Philippians 4:8.
2. Colossians 3:8-9
3. Ephesians 4:29
4. Colossians 4:6
5. Euphemisms.
a. Definition – the substitution of an
inoffensive term for one considered
offensively explicit.
b. gee – Used as a mild expletive or exclamation
of surprise. Euphemistic shortening of Jesus.
c. golly – Used to express mild surprise or
wonder. Euphemism for God.
d. heck – Euphemism for hell.
C. Works
1. Revelation 20:12-13; 2 Corinthians 5:10
a. There are good works which we will find in the
New Testament – 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
b. All other works are evil.
2. In trying to decide if it would be O. K. for you
to do something, ask yourself these questions:
a. If Jesus is with me, could I invite Him along?
b. Or, if Jesus came back while I am doing it,
would it be alright?
c. Would it destroy, or at least, hurt my
influence as a Christian?
d. Does it have the appearance of evil?
3. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Acts 2:36-38, 41-42.

When think of these in column one as bad sins; but these others, when we fail to do them, they are just as bad.
Conclusion: Are you ready for the judgment day? If not, then you need to start getting ready for it.
