SENTENCE SERMONS #2Most of these sentence sermons are from THE INSTRUCTOR (East Albertville church of Christ in Albertville, AL) Carol Sutton editor. The way some people murmur and criticize, you would think they get paid for doing it. Life without a true and noble purpose is meaningless and without great value. We should watch our steps very carefully! Many other people do. Your attitude is the control center of your life. Make sure it is a proper one. Confidence and goodwill are earned by many acts, but they may be lost by one. Carefully guard your thoughts because they may become words at any time. We must keep our hearts pure in order to guard the purity of our lives. Too many people are "broad-minded" about the wrong things. A lie has a forked tongue like a snake, but, unlike a snake, it has legs. Nobody knows the age of the human race, but all agree that it is ole enough to know better. A bitter world cannot be sweetened by a sour religion. Nothing is harder for most people to see than the obvious. It is never worthwhile to argue about religion that you think too little of to practice. The devil is never to busy to rock the cradle of a sleeping saint. If you aren’t big enough for criticism, you are really too small for praise. He who provides for this life, but takes no care for eternity, is wise for a moment, but a fool forever. There may be a wrong way to do the right thing, but there is never a right way to do the wrong thing. No one knows of your honesty and sincerity unless you give out some examples. A sharp tongue does not necessarily indicate a keen mind. An evil conscience cannot be cured by medicine. A Christian cannot be a blank. He is either a blessing or a blot. What a man possesses is not nearly as important as what possesses him. Two people cannot hate each other if they both love God. |
