The Wages of Sin

To further emphasize the point that we made last week regarding those who would not make it to heaven, let me quote from Galatians 5:19-21. "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Again note "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murders, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

Again in Ephesians 5:3-6 Paul emphasizes "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints, Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience."

Dear friends, it should be clearly evident that the wages of sin is death as is clearly stated in Romans 6:23. That these sins will bring eternal death in the fire is not something which I have dreamed up. This is not simply the whimsical teaching of Howard See. This is what the Holy Spirit of God has revealed through the apostles. Jesus had promised that when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles, that He would "teach them all things", "bring to their remembrance all things whatsoever I have commanded you", and "show you things to come." John 14:26; 15:26; 16:13. That which the Lord Jesus revealed personally and which the Holy Spirit revealed from the Lord to the apostles will be the standard of Judgment in the great day of judgment. It is not a matter of what I might say or have said. Unless I have taught what the Lord what the Lord has said. In this case it is the Lord who has said that they which commit these sins shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven, but rather will be cast into the lake of fire.

Sin is a serious affront to God. "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:17-18. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;" Acts 3:19. "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38. Don’t be deceived into thinking that you can commit these sins and still go to heaven without repenting (turning away from the practice of them) genuine sorrow in your heart and then being baptized for the remission of those sins. Those who continue in these sins will be sadly disappoint the day of Judgment.
