Chart # 11
That Part of the Law Which is Called the "Law of Moses" or the
"Ceremonial Law" Contains Many Laws Which Are Purely Moral By Their
Very Nature.
Note Deuteronomy 27:
- Verse 15 - "Cursed be the man that maketh a graven or molten
image."
- Verse 18 - "Cursed by he that maketh the blind to wander out of the
way."
- Verse 19 - "Cursed be he that wresteth the justice due to the
stranger."
- Verse 20 - "Cursed be he that lieth with his Father's wife."
- Verse 23 - "Cursed be he that lieth with his mother-in-law."
- Verse 24 - "Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbor in secret."
- Verse 27 - "Cursed be he that taketh a bride to slay an innocent
person."
That so called "ceremonial laws" contain many things which are
moral in nature. Hence, such a distinction is not a Bible distinction.
Chart #12 The Law of Moses The Law of the Almighty God.
- The Law of God included new moons and solemn feast days. Psalms 81:3-4
- Law of God included burnt offerings, new moons, set feasts, Sabbaths.
2 Chronicles 31:3
- God's commandments, statutes, judgments, and testimonies are written in
the Law of Moses. 1 Kings 2:3
- The Law of God told the children of Israel to dwell in booths. Nehemiah
8:18, 14
It is thus evident that God and Moses gave the same Law. (Nehemiah
10:29)
God gave the entire Law that Moses taught the people.
- God gave Moses' Law. Ezra 7:6
- Moses gave God's Law. Nehemiah 10:29
- God gave the book of the Law of Moses. Nehemiah 8:1
- Moses gave the book of the Law of the Lord. 2 Chronicles 34:14
All of the Law is called the "Law of God" because God is the author
of all of it. It is called the "Law of Moses" because it was all
given through Moses as a mediator.
It was all given at the same time, through the same mediator, to the same
people, by the same authority, for the same purpose, and was all taken "out
of the way" at the cross. Colossians 2:14-16
Since the Law given at Sinai was a unit, every Scripture which teaches that
it was taken away at the cross indeed teaches that it was taken away as a whole,
in its entirety.
