Chart #8

The Bible Makes No "Moral" and "Ceremonial" Distinction.

Nehemiah 8:1-18

  1. Verse 1 - The Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.
  2. Verse 3 - The Book of the Law.
  3. Verse 8 - They read in the Book of the Law of God distinctly.
  4. Verse 9 - They heard the Words of the Law.
  5. Verse 14 - The Law which the Lord had commanded by Moses.
  6. Verse 18 - He read in the Book of the Law of God.

In this chapter it is clear that Moses spoke to Israel that which God commanded. 8:1, 14.

It is also clear that this Law which God commanded Israel by Moses is referred to as:
1. The Law of Moses. verse 1
2. The Law. verses 3, 9
3. The Law of God. verses 8, 18

Chart #9 - Were the Ten Commandments God's "Moral Law" which is eternal and the remainder of the Law "Ceremonial" and which has been taken away?

To prove this it would be necessary to find each of the following texts:

  1. The text which says that the "Ceremonial Law" was abolished.
  2. The text which says that the "Moral Law" is still binding.
  3. The text that says that Exodus 20:2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21 are the "Moral Law".
  4. The text which says that the rest of the law given through Moses is the "Ceremonial Law".

The Bible does not make a distinction between "Moral" and "Ceremonial" Laws.

The Bible does not use the word "Moral" or the word "Ceremonial" pertaining to any law.

Chart #10 - The Law of Moses, the so-called "Ceremonial Law", in it the two greatest commandments of the Law.

  1. The Greatest Commandment of the Law. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment."  Matthew 22:36-40; Deuteronomy 6:5
  2. The second is like unto it.  "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."  Matthew 22:36-40; Leviticus 19:18
  3. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
  4. Wonder why Jesus did not say, "Remember the Sabbath day"?
  5. Why did he not give one of the Ten Commandments?
  6. These two commands are found in that portion of Scripture which some say is the "Ceremonial Law" and which they say has been taken away.
