The Third Day
- "...and be killed, and be raised again the third day."
Matthew 16:21
- "...and the third day he shall rise again." Matthew 20:19
- "...and after three days rise again." Mark 8:31
- "...He shall rise the third day." Mark 9:31

- "...and the the third day he shall rise again."
Luke 18:33
- "...Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to
rise from the dead the third day." Luke 24:46
- "...Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it
up." John 2:19
- "Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet
alive, after three days I will rise again. Command therefore that the
sepulchre be made sure until the third day,..." Matthew 27:63-64
- "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's
belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and nights in the heart
of the earth. Matthew 12:40
We have three different Hebrew expressions meaning the same thing.
"And he put them all together into ward three days. And Joseph
said unto them the third day..." Genesis 42:17-18
"And he said unto them, Depart yet for three days, then come again
to me. And the people departed...So Jeroboam and all of the people came to
Rehoboam the third day." 1 Kings 12:5, 12
"Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye
for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day;..."
"Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal
apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house:..." Esther 4:16;
