of the things that we do and practice in religion.

preaching. This study will include “is preaching in
the public assembly, what type of preaching should we
have, what is the goal of preaching, and what type of
response there should be to it?”

              (1) Vine – primarily to put honour upon, then
to adjudge, hence signifies to rebuke.
              (2) Kubo – rebuke
              (3) Green – pr. To set a value upon; to
assess a penalty; to allege as a
                  crimination; hence, to reprove, chide,
                  censure, rebuke, reprimand.
              (4) American Heritage Dictionary – 1) To
                  criticize or reprove sharply; reprimand.
     C. Encouraging. 2 Timothy 4:2 (exhort - parakalew)
        1. Vine – primarily, to call to a person…denotes
           (a) to call on, entreat;…(b) to admonish,
exhort, to urge one to pursue some course of
           conduct.
