Chart #45 A Look at Some Consequences:

  1. Baptists teach that baptism is nonessential,
But, one cannot be a Baptist without being baptized.
    Therefore, making Baptists is nonessential.
  2. Baptists teach that baptism is no part of the gospel,
But, one cannot be a Baptist without being baptized.
Therefore, making Baptists is no part of the gospel.
  3. Baptists say, in derision, that we believe "God dwells only in the water."
This is not true, but, if it were, since one cannot be a Baptist without being baptized,
Therefore, the Baptist church dwells only in the water.
  4. Baptist say we "make a God out of the water."
But, one cannot be a Baptist without being baptized."
Therefore, by the same type logic (?) they make a Baptist church out of the water.
  5. When we drain the baptistery, Baptist say, we drain out God.
But, since one cannot be a Baptist without being baptized,
Then when they drain their baptistery they drain out of their Baptist church.

Through the years some Baptist preachers have been very disrespectful in dealing with the subject of baptism.

  1. Some have referred to baptism as "ducking in a mud-puddle".
But, one cannot be a Baptist without being baptized.
Therefore, "ducking in a mud-puddle" makes Baptists.
  2. Some have said we "souse people in a water-god."
But, one cannot be a Baptist without being baptized.
Therefore, "sousing in a water-god makes Baptists.
  3. Some have said we can baptize until people "get acquainted with the minnows".
But, one cannot be a Baptist without being baptized.
Therefore, "getting acquainted with minnows" makes Baptists.

Many other statements have been made by those who have simply rebelled against the simple teaching of God's Truth on the subject of Baptism for the remissions on sins.  This is sufficient, however, to show that every argument that Baptists and others make against baptism can be made against making Baptists.  May God help each one to be honest with God, with the word of God, and with himself and obey the truth that their souls may be purified. 1 Peter 1:22-23.  Each one will give an account to God for the way they treat the Word of God and whether or not they obeyed the Truth.  1 Corinthians 5:10, etc.  If we can assist you in your study and in your obedience to God, please feel free to call us.  We would be happy to come to your home and study with you.
