Chart #39 Baptism Is a Part of Faith: Acts 19:1-5
- Paul found certain disciples in Ephesus.
- They had received John's Baptism.
- John had told them that they should "believe on Jesus.
- Paul reminded them of John's teaching.
- The record says, "When they heard this" they were
baptized.
a. When they heard what?
b. When they heard that they had to be believe on Jesus Christ.
c. when they heard this they were baptized.
d. If they had refused to be baptized they would have been disbelievers, for
the simple reason that Christ commanded it and it is thus a matter of faith.
- Those who submit to baptism show their faith by their works. James 2:18
- Those who refuse, show their disbelief.
- Those who refuse to be baptized "for the remission of sins,"
Acts 2:38; to be saved, Mark 16:16; 1 Peter 3:21; to away their sins, Acts
22:16; etc., reject the counsel of God against themselves in the same sense
that those who refused to be baptized by John rejected the counsel of God.
Luke 7:29-30
Chart #40 Baptism is a Part of the Gospel.
- Mark 16:16 - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel..."
- Romans 1:16 - "The Gospel is the power of God unto salvation..."
- Acts 8:5, 12 - The Gospel was preached - they believed and were
baptized.
- 2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 - Vengeance is rendered to those who obey not the
Gospel.
Therefore, If a Man Is Not Baptized, He Will Have Vengeance rendered Unto
Him.
Chart #41 A Look at the Word "Into".
- In Matthew 28:19, it is said that people are to be baptized into
the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (R. V.)
- In Romans 6:3, the Apostle Paul said people were baptized into Jesus
Christ.
- And in the same verse, Paul asserted that people were baptized into the
death of Christ.
- In 1 Corinthians 12:13, it is said that we are all baptized into one
body.
- In Galatians 3:27, Paul said people are baptized into
Christ.
I challenge my opponent to find a passage that teaches that we can get
into these before and without baptism in water.
Please Note: No Man Can Find the Word "Into" In the
Bible, When Used With Reference to the Church or Body of Christ, Unless It Is
Preceded By the Word Baptized.
