Tomatoes (Mother used canned tomatoes)
Onion
Spaghetti
Red Pepper
Butter
Salt (to taste)

Cut up the tomatoes. Depending on the amount of the tomatoes that you have, add Onion, Spaghetti, Butter, Salt, and Red Pepper. Cook on medium heat until the spaghetti is done. Be sure to cook the spaghetti with the tomatoes otherwise it will not turn out right (it will be too juicy) and it won’t taste right.  Mother is very emphatic about cooking the spaghetti with the tomatoes.  She says that by cooking hte spaghetti wiht the tomatoes, the spaghetti will absorb the tomato juice.

Growing up this was the only way that I would eat tomatoes and even today, it is about the only way that I will eat tomatoes.

This is a recipe from my mother’s childhood.

You might try adding crushed Red Pepper Flakes, Hot Sauce, and/or Parsley Flakes.
