Lisa's Sweet Potatoes

Mother has gotten a lot of compliments on this recipe.  She has had it so long that she does not remember where she got it.

3 Cups mashed sweet potatoes
1 Cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 Tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup melted butter

Put sweet potatoes through sieve.  (Mother states that she never put the sweet potatoes through a sieve but just mashed the sweet potatoes.)  Combine with remaining ingredients.  Put in greased casserole.  Add topping and bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.

Topping

1 Cup brown sugar
1/3 Cup butter
1/3 Cup flour
1/2 Cup chopped nuts

Combine and sprinkle over sweet potatoes.
