God's Simple Plan of SalvationThere is a question that is one of the most important questions that one can ask. One's eternal joy or sorrow depends on the answer. The question is "Are you saved?" It is not a question of how good you are; not if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to heaven when you die? God says that for you to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:3, Jesus told Nicodemus..."Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." In the Bible God gives us the plan on how one can be born again, which means to be saved. His plan is simple! You can be saved today. How? First, my friend, you must realize that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. Romans 6:23 For the wages [payment] of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. This includes eternal separation from God in Hell. But God loved you and me so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear our sin and to die in our place. "For He made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Jesus had to shed His blood and die. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.'" Leviticus 17:11 Also, "And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission." Hebrews 9:22 Paul writes in Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Although we may not understand how, God said my sins and your were laid upon Jesus and He died in our place. He became our substitute. It is true because God cannot lie. We then must believe on Jesus as the one who bore our sins, died in our
place, was buried and whom God resurrected. |
