Election #1 Debate Notes

After Daddy's debate with Jon Zens on the subject of apostasy (see Debate Notes - Apostasy) at Covenant College on March 22, 1972, he debated Mr. Zens on the subject of election at the Eastland church of Christ building in June 1979. This page and the next (Election #2 Debate Notes) give links to pages that will have the charts that he used during this debate.  

He wrote the following comments on the handouts that he gave out: "Many of these charts have been used by me in debates with Mr. W. T. Cook, of Savanah, Ga. at Grayson, Ky. and Kenova, W. Va; (1957 and 1958); with Mr. Bob Ross, of Ashland, Ky. at Ashland, Ky. (1961); and with Mr. Eddie Garrett, Middletown, Ohio at Franklin, Ohio (1966).  They have been prepared and arranged here, however, especially for this debate with Mr. Jon Zens of the Reformed Baptist Church, Nashville, Tennessee.  They have been printed for distribution at the discussion in the hope that they will help facilitate further study of this vital subject after the discussion.  It is hoped that you will benefit as much from your study of them as I have through their preparation.
