How Does God Choose People?

  1. 2 Thessalonians 2:13 - "God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the spirit and belief of the truth.
    Belief of the truth is a condition performed by man. - Romans 10:10 - "With the heart man believeth unto righteousness."
  2. Called by the gospel. 2 Corinthians 4:15; 2 Thessalonians 2:14
  3. Begotten by the word of truth.- James 1:18
  4. Hear and learn - come to Christ - John 6:44-45
  5. Gospel is power of God unto salvation - Romans 1:16

Chart #12 Faith is an Act Performed By Man

  1. John 3:18 - "He that believeth on him is not condemned: But he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God."
  2. John 3:36 - "And he that believeth not the son shall not see life."
  3. John 8:24 - "For if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins."
  4. Acts 16:30-31 - "Sires, what must I do to be saved?  And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ..."
  5. Romans 10:10 - "With the heart man believeth unto righteousness."
  6. Romans 5:2 - "we have access by faith into this grace." No faith - No grace.
  7. Ephesians 2:8 - "For by grace are ye saved through faith."

Man is not saved before faith, but through faith.  Faith is an act performed by man.  Therefore salvation is conditional on man's part.

14. Revelation 21:8 - Unbelieving - Part in lake of fire
