Chart #4

It will not be sufficient for my opponent:

  1. It will not be sufficient for my opponent to produce that refer to God's foreknowledge.  What he needs to do is find a passage that says that God has chosen to foreknow which specific individuals will be saved, rather than what class of persons he chooses to save.  This he cannot do.
  2. It will not be sufficient for my opponent to mention passages that teach that God predestinated certain things to come to pass.  What he needs to do is to find one passage that says that God predestinated specific individuals to be saved without their obeying God.  This he cannot do.
  3. It will not be sufficient for my opponent to produce passages that set forth God's power.  What he needs to find is one passage that states that God has chosen to exercise his power in saving individuals separate from any conditions to be met on man's part.  This he cannot do.
  4. It will not be sufficient for my opponent to produce passages that say that God saves individuals.  What he needs to do is produce one that says that God saves without any conditions to be met on man's part.  This he cannot do.

Chart #5 - What I Must Do to Overthrow My Opponents Proposition.

  1. All that I need to do to overthrow my opponents proposition is to produce just one passage of scripture which teaches that teaches man's salvation is dependent upon his obedience to God.  Mark 16:15-16; Hebrews 5:8-9; Matthew 7:21-23; Revelation 22:14

Chart #6 Consequences of My Opponents Position.

  1. Makes God a respecter of persons.  Cf. Acts 10:34-35
  2. Makes God responsible for those who are lost
  3. Christ shed his blood for the salvation which was already certain.  Hence, Christ's blood affected their destiny in no way whatsoever.
  4. Hence, Christ died in vain.
  5. If my opponent denies the consequences and says that Christ's death was necessary: Then,
    a. Christ did not shed his blood for every man, because some will be lost.  Cf. Hebrews 2:9
    b. Thus, he limits the power of the blood of Christ as inadequate for all.
    c. Otherwise, he is forced to universal salvation or must take the position that salvation is conditional on man's part.
  6. There is nothing that man can do in anyway to affect his salvation, therefore there is no need to teach, worship, pray, pay, attend, etc.
  7. There is no need for the gospel message, since it cannot change man's destiny.
  8. Limits God's Sovereign Grace only to a few.
