Ye Are Fallen From Grace (Galatians 5:4).

  1. Was Paul warning these Galatians against an impossibility?
  2. Could one have fallen from grace who never was in it?
  3. Do you say that you cannot fall from grace?  Paul says that they did?
  4. If Paul was not declaring what had occurred, he was definitely showing them what could occur; if it does not mean they actually had, it certainly does mean that they positively could.

Abide in Christ

1. John 15:6 - "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."
2. 1 John 2:24 - "As for you, let that abide in you which ye heard from the beginning abide in you, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father.

NOTE: Christ makes the abiding in Him dependent on His word abiding in us.

Luke 8:13 - Some "for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away."

Why These Admonitions of God?

Is It Possible For a Child of God to Sin?  If Not, Why the Following Admonitions?

  1. Colossians 3:9 - Can a child of God lie?  What about Ananias and Sapphira, Acts 5:1-10; Revelation 21:8.
  2. Romans 2:21-22 - Can a child of God steal?
  3. Romans 2:21-22 - Can a child of God commit adultery? 1 Corinthians 5:1
  4. Ephesians 5:18; Galatians 5:21 - Can a child of God get drunk?  1 Corinthians 11:21
  5. 1 Peter 2:11 - Can a child of God lust?
     a. It will do no good to say that it is the flesh that lusts, and not the spirit.
     b. James says that it is the spirit which lusteth (James 4:5).
      c. Such things proceed out of the heart (Matthew 15:19-20).
