CHART #15
THE DOCTRINE OF THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF APOSTASY IS ENTIRELY INCOMPATIBLE
WITH THE WHOLE TREND OF BIBLE TEACHING.
1. First, the Bible warns us against falling.
a. "Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he
fall." 1 Corinthians 10:12
2. Second, the Bible teaches us how to keep from falling.
a. If ye do these things, ye shall never fall." 2
Peter 1:10
3. Third, the Bible tells us what to do when we fall.
a. "but if man sin, we have an advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ, the righteous, and he is the propitiation for our sins, and not
for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world." 1 John 2:1-2
b. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins." 1 John 1:9
4. The Bible thus warns us against falling; the Bible tells us how to keep from
falling; and the Bible tells what to do when we fall.
5. If man cannot fall, then why all of this instruction in the Bible about
falling? Would God warn a man who cannot fall against falling? Would
God tell a man who cannot fall, how to keep from falling? Would God tell a
man who cannot fall what to do when he does fall?
6. My opponent may say, "Well, we can fall, but we cannot be lost. We
can sin, but we cannot be damned." "We can, but one who is a
Christian will not do so."
7. The text says that "if" we confess our sins, God is faithful and
just to forgive our sins. Now, suppose here is a man who is a child of God
and he sins. John says "if" he confesses his sins, God will
forgive him. Suppose he does not confess his sins. Will God forgive
him anyhow? If he will, then the passage has no meaning. Why
confess?
8. If one who is a true Christian is irresistibly influenced by God to refrain
from sinning, then none of the passages have any meaning.

THOSE FOR WHOM CHRIST DIED CAN BE DESTROYED!!
1. Romans 14:15 - "Destroy not him with thy meat for whom Christ
died."
2. 1 Corinthians 8:11 - "And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother
perish, for whom Christ died."
NOTE:
1. Christ died for this brother!
2. This brother may perish or be destroyed!
Hence, the Possibility of Apostasy is Established, and My Opponents
Position is Shown to be False.
