Be of Good Cheer

Text: John 16:25-33

Introduction: This is a lesson in confidence, assurance, 
and consolation.

  I. We can be of good cheer.
     A. God’s word has come to us plainly.

 II. Other reasons for cheer.
     A. In spite of our sinfulness, “Jesus saves.”

     C. Conditions of pardon are clear and practical.

     D. In temptation, God’s word provides a way of escape.

III. Dangers of false security (cheer without reason).
