Apostasy Debate Notes (Garrett)

The first two nights of Daddy's debate with Eddie K. Garrett in November, 1966 dealt with the subject of "conditional or unconditional salvation."  The last two nights dealt with the subject of apostasy.  Daddy wrote the following: "Although many of these charts have been used by me in previous debates, these have been prepared and arranged especially for this debate with Mr. Eddie Garrett, minister of the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, Middletown, Ohio.  They have have printed for distribution at the discussion in the hope that all might be able to follow my affirmative and negative arguments with better understanding and that they may be available in each home after the discussion to facilitate further study of these vital subjects.  It is hoped that you will benefit as much from your study of them as I have through their preparation.  May I urge each person to check the Scriptures on each chart, and as you find it teaching God's truth, see that your life is made to harmonize with it.  It is with a prayer that these charts may be a blessing to you and may be instrumental in helping to save souls that we present them to you. Howard See"

Chart #35 Propositions for Third and Fourth Nights

Resolved that the Scriptures teach that it is possible for a child of God to so sin as to be lost eternally.
Affirmative: Howard See
Negative: Eddie K. Garrett

The issue is whether a child of God can fall from grace so as to be eternally lost in hell.  I affirm that he cannot.
Defined:
1. "Child of God": A regenerated, forgiven, sanctified person. - A Christian.
2. "Fall": To be separated from the love of God so as to end up in hell.
Affirmative: Eddie K. Garrett
Negative: Howard See
